Api 325/312
Mic Preamplifier
(Currently out of Stock)
The API 325/312 Mic Preamps from SVT Audio have been built from original vintage API 325 line input cards. These cards came right out of one of the legendary vintage custom Frank Demedio recording consoles used by Wally Heider Recording in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Some of the legends that recorded at Wally Heider include Neil Young with Crazy Horse, The Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Crosby, Still , Nash and Young, TRex, Van Morrison, CCR and Santana to name a few.
The API 325 cards have been modified with Classic Audio Products of Illinois EA 2622 mic input transformers and handwired to fit into the API 500 series racks/lunchbox. Great attention and care has been taken to assure the original API 312 mic pre circuit was preserved for it's purity and sonic quality.
Through extensive bench and acoustic testing we feel the EA 2622 mic input transformer is the closest match to the original API 2622 mic input transformers. (See RTA shoot-out with actual API312 Mic Pres verses the EA 2622 and the Cinemag 75101A, API's current 512C mic input transformer.)
This is not an imitation but the original 312 circuit with a vintage API AP 2503 output transformer and a Current API 2520 OpAmp. The 325/312 offers an extremely low noise and that beautiful clean/warm sound API is famous for. The mic pre also offers 60db of gain, high impedance instrument direct input,+48v phantom power switch, phase reverse switch and a 20db pad.
NOTE: This product is currently out of stock due to availability of the vintage API 325 Cards. Sorry if some become available I will post them immediately. Thanks.
